iPhone Air

Well, the FOMO finally won.

This morning, I went to the Apple Store and returned the iPhone 17 that I picked up on launch day and got the iPhone Air instead.

Now, don’t get me wrong — I really liked the iPhone 17 a lot. It’s a great phone. But every time I saw the iPhone Air or picked one up and played with it at the Apple Store, I sorta wanted one. It just felt SO GOOD in hand — it’s like you’re just holding a piece of glass instead of a phone.

The only part I was initially unsure of was returning a phone that was on the iPhone Upgrade Program, but I did some reading yesterday and was pretty confident it could be done — I would just have to apply & be approved for a new IUP loan.

Fortunately for me, Andy just did a similar thing at an Apple Store in the UK — he returned a 17 Pro and got the Air — so he was able to confirm what I read was correct.

I don’t have many opinions on it right now other than it looks & feels great since I’ve only had it for 10 hours or so, but here’s a photo of Moose that I took with it:

So, here we are. I now have a Sky Blue1 iPhone Air. Let’s see how this goes!

  1. I thought this was the white one when I was looking at them in the store until the sales guy pointed out it was actually Sky Blue. The difference is barely noticeable — the blue is so pale it looks white in almost every light I’ve seen it in so far. This works out fine since I originally wanted Cloud White anyway, but all 12 of my closest stores were sold out. ↩︎
