Migrated to Pagecord

I’ve decided to move the blog over to Pagecord — at least for now — mostly due to the post by email feature (which I’m using to post this).

I emailed yesterday and asked to have my blog imported and Olly got back to me a couple of hours later saying it was done. Everything should be moved over (and I updates a couple of spots). Please let me know if you find anything broken.

Note: If you were previously subscribed to the RSS feed, it has moved. Please update your feed reader.

Weekly Recap 47

Week of June 14

📱 After a couple weeks using the iPhone Air, I’m back on the iPhone 17 Pro. I have the iOS 27 beta on the Pro, so we’ll see how using that full time goes. I don’t really anticipate issues – it’s been pretty good in my testing – but I’ll find out soon enough.

Happy 17th Birthday, Boys!

My twins turn 17 today, and I could not be more proud of the young men they’ve become. I know I post this photo every year, but it’s my favorite and I don’t care — I’m posting it anyway ☺️

Happy birthday boys, I love you ❤️

Weekly Recap #45

Week of May 31

📱 Since I hadn’t used it in a while, I decided to switch back to the iPhone Air this past week. It’s been a fun little experiment. I still do really love the form factor of the Air, but I will probably end up back on the 17 Pro soon.

Adios, Urethra Franklin

I had surgery on Wednesday morning to remove a 1.3cm kidney stone from my upper left ureter.

Everything went well and the whole thing was extremely quick. I arrived at the hospital at 6am and was on my way home at 10am. Kinda crazy.

In order to keep my ureter from swelling shut, a 6x26 double-J stent that goes from my bladder into my kidney was placed. I go back on June 10th to have the stent removed.

I cannot wait until all of this is finally over and done with.

Weekly Recap #44

Another short one this week.

Week of May 24

🇺🇸 Monday was Memorial Day here in the US and it was absolutely gorgeous outside. The pain was tolerable enough that I was able to get my ass out of the house and over to my mom’s to fire up the grill and make everyone dinner.

Getting Old Sucks, Part 4

How It Started

Back at the end of August last year, my doctor sent me for some x-rays on my ribs (I broke two back in 2023 and was still having some issues) and they noticed a kidney stone on the x-ray.

She referred me to urology and the urologist said since it was just sitting in the middle of my kidney1 and wasn’t causing me any problems and nobody even knew it was there (or for how long), we’d just leave it alone unless it became a problem.

Weekly Recap #42

Week of May 10

🏀 The Sixers got swept by the Knicks, 4-0. Game 4 was a shitshow. The Knicks hit 25 3-pointers (which ties the postseason record) and won 144-114. Sheesh. I’m not much of a fan of any of the teams left, so I don’t know how many more games I’ll actually watch until the Finals start.

Weekly Recap #41

Week of May 3

💻 As I’ve mentioned a few times previously, one of my twins is graduating high school a year early this June. Earlier this week, I decided to get him a MacBook Neo for his graduation present. My original plan was to order one and have it shipped to him, but since 1) shipping times are currently all over the place, 2) I wanted to surprise him with it, and 3) my local Apple Store had the model and color I wanted in stock (512 GB, Touch ID, Indigo), I decided to just go get it and take it with me when I fly out. Hopefully he likes it!
