Weekly Recap #15

Week of November 2

🌐 The domain transfer to Porkbun finished on Nov. 3rd and was totally painless. I’ll be moving my other domains over when they’re up for renewal.

🖥️ I upgraded the server this site runs on to Ubuntu 25.10 “Questing Quokka,” and I did it over SSH because I’m either a rebel… or an idiot. I’m not sure which yet. 😂 Either way, it worked and I didn’t lock myself out, so I’ll call that a win.

🍎 Apple released the 26.1 updates for its various operating systems. The first thing I did after updating was change Liquid Glass to “Tinted” under Display & Brightness.

🎮 I played the new Gauntlet mode in Battlefield 6 for the first time this week with some buddies — holy shit it’s fun. This might be the mode that saves the game for me since Conquest sucks right now.

📱 I switched my iPad Pro to “More Space.” I’ve tried this before and always end up going back because something doesn’t support Dynamic Type and it’s too small for my old ass to read. We’ll see how long I last this time. Also, I hate that there’s no iPad emoji. Update: I lasted 4 days or so and went back to “Standard” 🤷‍♂️

📝 Site updates: Removed the random theme from the home page, about page, posts page, and now page, and removed the different color themes from individual posts. Everything is using the purple theme — for now. Increased body font size from 1rem to 1.125rem. Added the post count on the posts page, and did a little future-proofing on that page so previous years will collapse once a new one starts.
