Week of August 24

🍎 iOS/iPadOS/macOS/watchOS 26 beta 8 time. What we’re seeing with these builds is likely very close to the final product minus any showstopper bugs.

🔵 Tot - one of my favorite apps and the app I use to write these weekly updates - got a big update this past week. You should definitely check it out if you haven’t already.

📱 Apple’s “Awe Dropping” event has been announced for September 9th at 10 a.m. Pacific time.

🪜 I ordered an 18’ reach ladder from Home Depot. I had NO IDEA that ladders were so expensive. Does buying this mean that I’m an adult now?

🏥 I had a doc appointment this week to re-check my A1C and some other stuff from late April/early May. My A1C is down to 6.0 (from 9.7) and I’m down almost 25 pounds. The lipid panel isn’t back yet, so we’ll see what happens there. She’s happy with it all so far, and I don’t have to go back until March (yay!).

👨‍💻 I got a bug up my ass on Friday night and spent 5 or 6 hours writing my own VERY basic static blog generator in PHP. It essentially just converts posts or pages written in Markdown to HTML and copies the built files to the web root. This site is still on Pika for now and isn’t built by it yet, but probably will be soon.
