Week of May 31
š± Since I hadnāt used it in a while, I decided to switch back to the iPhone Air this past week. Itās been a fun little experiment. I still do really love the form factor of the Air, but I will probably end up back on the 17 Pro soon.
š¤ I did a home sleep study back in May, and on Monday I had an appointment with a sleep specialist doctor to review the findings. Long story short, I have severe OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) and am basically waking up around once per minute to breathe during my sleep. That explains why Iām so fucking exhausted all the time. The doc prescribed a CPAP machine, and says I should notice an immediate improvement once Iām able to pick it up and start using it.
š„ On Wednesday, I had surgery to remove a 1.3cm kidney stone. I had to be at the hospital at 6am, and the surgery itself was scheduled for 7:30. It was quick (about 45 minutes), and I was out the door and on my way home at around 10:00. They placed a stent that goes from my bladder into my kidney so the ureter doesnāt swell shut, and I have another appointment on June 10th to get the stent removed.
š§āš Wednesday was also Alexās high school graduation. While Iām still super upset I had to cancel my trip due to the surgery, I was able to still see him walk for it thanks to the livestream of the ceremony. Iām so proud of this kid ā he busted his ass to graduate a year early and has been working at Starbucks for the last 9 months or so. As an employee, heās able to attend Arizona State online for free and get a Bachelorās degree. When heās done, he wants to move to Japan and teach English. Huge thanks to his mom for sending me some pics.
āļø I booked Nickās (the other twin) flight for his trip out to visit this summer. Heāll be here from July 21-August 11th. I canāt wait. Now I just need to figure out when Alex can get some time off so he can come visit too1.
š The NBA Finals started on Wednesday night, and the Knicks lead the series against the Spurs 2 games to none. As I said previously, I donāt think anyone can beat them right now. My prediction? Knicks sweep in 4.

Leaving the Tech World Professionally
This post from B pretty much hits the nail on the head when it comes to how I feel about technology these days. Iāve spent a lot of time lately staring at the list of academic programs that the local community college offers hoping that something will create a spark.
As of now, it sounds like that might not be until sometime later in August.
